Meet the Third Grade Teacher Ms. Ana Cortes

My name is Ana Cortes and I started teaching at Our Lady of Tepeyac in 2019. I attended Big Shoulders schools for my elementary and high secondary education, and graduated from DePaul University in 2018 with my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I enjoy teaching younger children and I'm passionate about working and growing together with the Latino community that I'm proud to be part of. During my leisure time, I love to read and play games with my younger brother. I also have experience in liturgical music and attend weekly masses at my parish where I direct the choir in one of the masses. I'm a proficient bilingual speaker and writer (English/Spanish), and hope to learn a new language in the future! One of my dreams is to go back to my alma mater in the future and pursue a M.Ed. in Reading.
